Energy cost subsidy II: Don’t forget the settlement!
It should soon be possible to submit the final settlement regarding the energy cost subsidy II – do not miss the submission deadlines.
Deadlines
As applying for the energy cost subsidy II was possible until 7 December 2023, the applicant companies should have received the (conditional) subsidy approval by now.
The companies are obliged to submit a separate settlement on the basis of the actual costs via the aws Fördermanager for the subsidy period 2 (i.e. for the subsidy period from 1 July 2023 to 31 December 2023).
According to the guideline on the energy cost subsidy II the general deadline for submitting the settlement runs from 15 February 2024 to 6 June 2024. The actually applicable settlement period for the individual companies is to be announced by aws separately. Please be aware that the deadline in general will be shorter.
Submitting the settlement
For the settlement as well as for the application, a confirmation from an auditor, tax advisor or accountant is required. The settlement only includes the subsidy period from 1 July 2023 to 31 December 2023 and cannot be edited and/or modified after submission.
Keep the restrictions in mind
As part of the application for the energy cost subsidy II, the companies had to undertake not to make any bonus payments to members of the management board for the current financial year amounting to more than 50% of the bonus payments for the financial year 2021 from 20 November 2023 (with the exception of bonus payments already granted before 20 November 2023).
Furthermore, the companies had to undertake not to make any profit distribution in the period from 20 November 2023 to 20 April 2024 and to adjust their profit distributions until 20 June 2024 to their economic conditions.
Therefore, please continue to comply with these obligations.
